The chocolate puzzle and this don't have quite the same solution. The chocolate puzzle is that the second rectangle (after you've taken out the 'extra piece') actually has a slightly smaller length. The triangle puzzle is that the long side of the triangle is actually 2 sides, with a very wide angle. The trick in both cases is that the difference is almost imperceptible, since the space missing from the extra square is quite spread out.
