I hate these buses, but unfortunately two of the main routes I go on use these buses, the 4 bus and the 72 bus.
I understand the concept, getting the driver separate from the bus so a conductor can help save time on the bus ticket checking, and it's all a bit modern, supposed wifi, advertising, more information, ergonomic seats apparently, but, since they've been made for peak-time traveling, why have they been made so damn uncomfortable. If someone is sitting on the window seat, to sit on the aisle seat is really difficult and uncomfortable. Even when there are plenty of seats available, I just end up standing up on them. Got on the 72 this morning, and there must have been about 20 seats free on the bus, and at least 10 people decided to stand up instead.
Incredibly bad design, considering they cost 300 grand to make! York has already withdrawn using them, and Leeds is just one of three cities with them.
