FREE SHOW (Though we will have a no-obligation donation tin at the door with all monies taken going towards covering travelling bands expenses) POLYMATH - ridiculously fine, instrumental prog/math-rock from Brighton. One of the highlights of last year's ArcTanGent Festival and this year's StrangeForms Festival. During their sets many toes have been injured from dropping jaws. For fans of And So I Watch You from Afar, The Mars Volta & Battles. www.facebook.com/polymathbrightonwearepolymath.bandcamp.com/THE PROGRAM - instrumental, soundscapey, shoegaze-infused post-rock with trippy visuals always makes for a cracking performance. For fans of Maybeshewill, Godspeed and Pink Floyd. www.facebook.com/pages/the-program/253380334011theprogram1.bandcamp.com/PILES OF CLOTHES - charming, one-man alt-acoustica from Leeds. Will make you want to hug strangers and lament all those silly things you never did. For fans of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Badly Drawn Boy and Frank Turner. www.facebook.com/PilesOfClothessoundcloud.com/pilesofclothesDoors approx 8pm

This was last night. Didn't get down in time for first act in the end, got there just before The Program, who had a technical mare and only ended up playing for five minutes, was a shame, was sounding good.
Polymath were absolutely immense though, just a three piece, all instrumental, guitarist playing a right handed guitar left handed, so strings were in reverse, loads of cool sounds, really messed up rhythms, drummer was incredible, bassist pulled some mint moves and big riffs. Cracking band.
Well worth a check out, and hopefully back up Leeds way again soon.
