Don't know if anyone is familiar with any of A.C. Graylings work? He's a philosopher, written a number of books on all sorts of things. One of my favourites of his is "The Good Book: A Secular Bible", which was written at the same time as many other books we've seen from prominent atheists attacking religion, as well as the responses from their religious counterparts. The good thing about this book is that, unlike many others there's nothing negative in it. It doesn't attack or criticise anything, the whole point of it was to provide a book for non-religious people to turn to for inspiration, in the same way that the religious will turn to the texts of their faith. It's even set out in a similar manner to the Christian Bible, except it draws from thousands of years of secular and humanistic thinking and philosophy rather than religion, of course it's not meant to be seen as a "bible" as such, but just an uplifting source of inspiration for the non-religious as an alternative to bibles and korans. Worth a look for anyone interested in such things for sure, I really enjoyed reading it.
