For the last week or so, I seem to be drawn into watching all the documentaries I can about the universe, our galaxy, our planet, all of it. It was always totally mind boggling and mind blowing and, pretty much just felt like it wasn't even real, it's all just so sublime that you genuinely cannot really imagine how big it actually is, even when you know!! This documentary seemed like total nonsense at first, but after reading up about galaxies and what they've found out in the last bunch of years, and all the thousands of other galaxies, as big and bigger than ours, which is already way too big to comprehend, it all is actually, weirdly put into some kind of (still pretty much unbelievable) perspective. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then, read this... www.ba-bamail.com/View.aspx?MemberId=835852&emailid=12288&source=mobile_shareand then... watch this, because it actually SHOWS the journey through the galaxies! This documentary is MORE than worth 90 minutes of your time. Switch the lights off and watch this... I'm going to watch it again! Some of the narration (by Alec Baldwin) is a bit theatrical / done in a weird way, but it really doesn't matter, what you see during this, the further on it goes, is just completely beyond insane.

Just been reminded of the Carl Sagan 'Pale Blue Dot' video / audio... definitely gonna have to check out more of his readings. I also read a vast majority of this utterly brilliant Wikipedia article about 'Galaxy' whilst at work the other day (ssshhh don't tell them!). If you get half hour spare, please have a look through some of this. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxy

I like space. Have you seen the "Power of Ten" video too?

Oh god I did this... It's too much for me. I used to get high when I was little thinking about how small I was compared to everyting, it made my tiny brain all fuzzy and euphoric haha.

Hah, amazing! I've only ever managed to fold a piece of paper 8 times, and that was hard. I think you'd need a machine to do more than that, or a piece of paper the size of a football field to have the chance.

I thought that the size didn't matter when folding because you're halfing it?

But once a piece gets really tiny you can't fold it because the crease is bigger than the paper? My head hurts.

Yeah, but a piece of paper 10 miles wide, folded in half 8 times will be bigger than a piece of paper 30 centimetres wide folded 10 times, so, to fold it 103 times, it would have to be about ten billion miles long.
