I've heard quite a few of their things before, but not Shred Earthship, that's on my list to get. It's insano! Each tune is like having a skip of notes just emptied onto you. Much power. This morning Fat Freddy's Drop - Based On A True Story - lovely dub/soul from NZ, classic for me that I have allowed myself to neglect last couple of years. Glad now, cos it sounds fresh again. Hella - Hold Your Horse Is - instrumental, emphasis on mental, that is along same lines as (but more fun than) Lightning Bolt. One of my favourite bands init. n.p. Hate Eternal - I, Monarch - revisit. Weird. I don't know whether this is good or not because the band has some of the worst lyrics (!!!) and best straight-up extreme metal drum parts of all time from Mester Roddy.

Sky - The Great Balloon Race instrumental, prog, rock, classical, weird, clever.
You mention Hella - Hold your horse is, it's a great album, plenty of time for them. That's the only good thing about Death Grips for me is that they had the drummer from Hella in them.

Zach Hill is just the man all-round! Hella is/was so good, especially "..Horse.." and "..Chirpin Hard..". I get the not digging Death Grips thing, but I'm totally down with it! Nice crunchy, shouty, beat-y electronics. Went to see them a couple of years ago and they blew my fanny off!! n.p.Oxbow - An Evil Heat

I did hear that there was someone scrabbling around on the floor looking for his fanny at that gig! Haha...
Now listening to John Williams (the guitarist not the film tunes composer), last night I listened to 3 spanish guitar / acoustic / classical albums of his, and am listening to them again. One of the best guitarists ever to have existed. A personal favourite is this one... video looks very 80s / early 90s, but you get to see some crazy shapes and playing...

Yeah boi. Go-to classical player, especially for collections of, & availability of, recorded pieces. Ha, I'd have not taken you for walking down the street with Sky.. er.. blasting out. My guitar teacher taught me "Dance Of The Little Fairies" when I was about 15 haha, I have Sky IV on double vinyl too. Treads a fine line between interesting and very silly, for me but nice double-fold nostalgia. Cos it sounds so old and twee!!! n.p.my "Best Maiden Song From First 10 Studio Albums" playlist.

Sunn 0))) - Black One.
My personal fav Sunn 0))) album. Takes me back to when it came out and to the show at The Cockpit with Malefic on guest vocals. Support from Earth. Good times. 10 yers next year!

Martyr - Feeding The Abcess
Here's something that is the kind of thing I don't normally do... an 2006 album I have had since about when it came out that I've never listened to but somehow kept. Within 10 seconds I was head-in-hands... what a fool I've been. It's brilliant twisty techy/proggy DM, with vocals something like Mike DiSalvo or Dim Mak maybe; the kind of hardcore-vocalled tech bands from around 15 years back that had the Death worship going on too. This is quality!
