Okay, not a thread for always, but, when you do get a song stuck in your head, you'll remember this thread exists, and come and joyfully tell us all... www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=BrainwormGetting a song (usually one you dislike) stuck inside your mind that repeats endlessly. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EarwormActually a lot about it, including info about all the research done into the phenomenon and many examples through the ages! Since courage posted up the word 'Toot' in the Word Connection thread, I've had 'Don't mess with my toot toot' by Denise LaSalle going round in my head... This is of course terrifying, and I can't believe this song actually exists. If you've not heard it before, then your life is genuinely better than mine, but, here it is anyway, just to confirm, this is a REAL SONG!! Edgar Allan Poe's short story "The Imp of the Perverse" (1845) has the following: It is quite a common thing to be thus annoyed with the ringing in our ears, or rather in our memories, of the burthen of some ordinary song, or some unimpressive snatches from an opera. Nor will we be the less tormented if the song in itself be good, or the opera air meritorious.

Don't know how that goes. Always the best way for me to get rid of them is to listen to a bit of the song in question and then listen to something else straight away.

Mr42 it's not but thanks! futurerising.com/story/opinion/7-best-advertising-songs-of-all-timeThis link has it in their top seven adverts and have put the lyrics up but they can't find the video! After reading that I have the Shake N Vac one in my head instead. "Cheeri Oats and Cheery Corn
Cheeri Rice and Wheat
Cheeri four grain cheerios,
Cheeri good to eat,
They're delicious and nutritious
Cheeri, oh so good to eat."

Seems to be loads of fuss about their latest advert. Just saw the articles too. Racist backlash after the Cheerios advert featured a biracial family in the US. What a shocker eh.
